"A book is the only place in which you can examine a fragile thought without breaking it, or explore an explosive idea without fear it will go off in your face... one of the few havens remaining where a man's mind can get both provocation and privacy."

—Charles Langbridge Morgan

Who We Are

About the Library District, Our Mission Statement, Contact Information, Library Services, Supporting Your Library, Library Policies, Library Board

The Silver Falls Library District was established as a district in 1994.  Our library district covers 186 square miles (view district map) and serves about 17,000 people living in this region.  The Silver Falls Library District differs slightly from the boundary lines of the Silver Falls School District.  Currently, the library collection contains over 150,000 volumes, with additional access to over a million items from 17 other member libraries in the Chemeketa Cooperative Regional Library Service (CCRLS).

Our Mission

The Silver Falls Library exists for the use, education, and enjoyment of all citizens of the Library District.

The Library...
